Dear sir:
This letter is to Roddy Mc., Herb B., Charlie B., Wes L., Jessy R., and Tom J.
A huge thank you to the Both family of Barwick for hosting our “wedding” during Chapple Days earlier this month. As well to Mr. Cousins for officiating (by the way, my pay cheque of $12 is in the mail to you).
Roddy, or “Mac,” thank you so much for the fresh chocolate puffs and the dime-on-pin you sent on Aug. 3. So thoughtful.
Herb, well, the dogs were just too much to bear and the old back did not seem as healthy as it need be! Charlie . . . your mother . . . it would not have worked out, would it??
Wes, oh those blue eyes , oh ever so lovely . . . and the flowers were very thoughtful. The horse team was first-class! If you are ever in need of information on the Battle of Hastings, just give me a ring.
Jessy, you was just a bit too nervous, but would make someone a fine husband. The flowers (or part of a bush?) a nice gesture, also.
And Tom, oh Tom, those captivating poems . . . and the one I received on Tuesday, Aug. 3. I did not know you were so good with words! It was a difficult decision for sure!
But Rex won out after all. Did you see the back seat in that ole Whippet?
Sincerely,
Dorothy C. & Rex S.
P.S. If that fellow with the big black cowboy hat happens to read this, call me at one long and two shorts, after ole Rex goes to bed.
