The Northwest Catholic District School Board will review its student achievement initiatives for the 2004-05 school year at its regular monthly meeting tonight.
In a report submitted by Superintendent of Education Al Cesiunas and Laurie Bizero, the board’s new director of education, the NCDSB will review a list of activities taking place throughout the year to “ensure the provision and promotion of excellence in Catholic education.”
Initiatives to ensure Catholic signs and symbols are visible in the schools, to promote early math and early reading, to promote physical education and good health, and to ensure ongoing professional development for staff all are outlined in the report.
Also at tonight’s meeting, the board will:
•hear a report on the Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association conference held earlier this month; and
•review a preliminary variance report for the period September, 2003 to August, 2004.
The board will meet via videoconference starting at 7 p.m. at the board office next to St. Francis School.
