Wrong spin

To the Editor,
Regarding your article which appeared on the front page of the Friday, October 28, 2004, Fort Frances Daily Bulletin, we, as residents of Riverwalk Condominium, feel compelled to respond.
Positive comments, rather than negative comments would have been more beneficial to everyone. Your headline, “A few condo units still unsold,” would have read much more positive as “Only 2 units left.” Quite possibly, they would have sold by the week-end because many people are still considering purchasing.
Dredging up all the old negatives of the Riverwalk Condo will not help. Rather than old news, the good things that have been happening could have been highlighted by talking to a few of the owners living here.
The $5,000,000 mentioned in the article seems to stick in the minds of your readers. They do not take into consideration that the units sold have recouped over $4,200,000. Units in the process of selling and the remaining 2 units recoups more. Condo residents paid over $40,000 in town taxes for 2003, over $60,000 in 2004. Would this land previously have created that kind of revenue?
Consider that some of the owners at Riverwalk were drawn to this community because of the availability of these well-designed units. Some have come from distant communities.
Fort Frances had a vision for success and we, the residents of Riverwalk Condominium, look forward to the future. All the residents we have spoken with are very satisfied with their new home and comment on the friendliness and helpfulness of everyone concerned.
In the future we hope that the newspaper attempts to portray the condominium in a more positive light.
