The Fort William First Nation North Stars romped over the Borderland Thunder in Thunder Bay on the weekend, outscoring the visitors 18-1 in the two games.
The Thunder managed only 16 shots on goal in a 9-1 loss Friday night while the North Stars had 51.
Tanner Kaemingh scored the Thunder’s lone goal midway through the first period.
The North Stars then won Saturday’s game 9-0 to take over top spot in the SIJHL from the Thunder with a 13-0-1 record.
The Thunder now sit in second place at 12-3-1.
The teams had opened the season with a 1-1 overtime tie.
The Thunder have more than a week to think about the losses as their next game isn’t until Nov. 24, when they head up to Dryden to face the fourth-place Ice Dogs.
