Dear editor,
I am writing this letter in hopes of correcting what I believe to be a negative situation.
Many of those in our district are aware that the Sturgeon Creek Alternative Program (SCAP) is engaged in a building project.
As with any new project, planning meetings are necessary. And I am aware of the tremendous amount of effort required since I served as principal of two Christian schools over a period of six years.
The problem I have currently is that these planning meetings are being scheduled on Wednesday evenings. This is, for the majority of churches, the night for mid-week prayer and Bible study.
This creates a dilemma for dedicated Christians and sets up a situation that can cause division and discord. Clearly, school meetings could, and should, be scheduled so as not to compete with church services.
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another; and so much the more as ye see the day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25).
I hope and pray that those involved would see the wisdom of contributing to the unity needed among all God’s people.
Warmest regards in Christ,
Rudy French, Pastor,
