Dear sir:
Marriage as it is debated today is merely a relationship between two people who love each other. Marriage was intended to be, and should be, a relationship that goes beyond feelings and the sexual expression of two people in love.
We need marriage to be a lasting commitment (’til death do us part). We need marriage to be a relationship where the woman feels cherished and the man is respected.
We need to remember that marriage between a man and woman domesticates the man and provides a safe place for the woman. A marriage like this provides a place where boys learn to be men and girls learn to be women.
Our leaders are failing us. The media and arts are failing us. Their purpose is to direct us to this better way.
Marriage is a blessing when it works well. Please stop this madness. Protect your own marriage. Encourage those around you who are married. Stop our government from eroding the role of marriage in our culture.

Clarence Haak
