Fort Frances Aquanauts Heather Dutton, 18, and Alex Parent, 15, were in Saanich, B.C. (near Victoria) last weekend to compete at the 2005 Western Canadian Championships.

•Alex Parent (male open category)—50m free final (29.73, 3rd), 50m free preliminary (30.12, 4th), 200m IM final (2:43.51, 2nd), 200m IM preliminary (2:43. 62, 2nd), 400m free final (5:02.70, 2nd), 400m free preliminary (4:55.68, 3rd), 100m back final (1:17.56, 3rd), 100m back preliminary (1:18.87, 3rd), 100m free final (1:03.43, 3rd), 100m free preliminary (1:03.86, 3rd), 100m breast preliminary (1:29. 65, 2nd), and 100m fly final (1:17.28, 4th)
•Heather Dutton (16 and over)—50m fly final (30.84, 43rd), 200m IM preliminary (2:32.24, 35th), 200m fly preliminary (2:30.83, 25th), 400m IM preliminary (5:21.71, 27th), and 100m fly preliminary (1:08.45, 20th)
Parent next will be at the Ontario junior provincial championships, along with fellow Aquanauts Jessica and Nichole Lowey, this weekend in Nipigon.
The following weekend, Dutton, Rachel Dutton, and Carli McKinnon will be in Toronto for the all-Ontario swimming championships.
