The Friends of the Fort Frances Public Library will be holding its annual membership drive March 7-12.
Existing “Friends” can renew their membership while any library patron who is not already a “Friend” can purchase a membership during that week at the library.
Memberships cost $2 each and are valid for one year. So be sure to take a toonie to the library with you next week.
In other news, the Friends of the Library held its monthly meeting Feb. 17 at the library.
Chairperson Pat Bird thanked all who helped make the ninth-annual Valentine bake sale a great success.
Ruth Caldwell, Barb Marr, and Marge Sveinson once again did a wonderful job of setting up, displaying, and running the popular bake sale, which brought in $1,050 to be used for our library.
Special thanks also were expressed to everyone who helped to sell all the tickets for the “Choose Your Own Adventure” draw, as well as to all who contributed the wonderful baking for the bake sale.
The support from the community who buy the tickets and who came out to buy the baking is extraordinary.
The next Friends of the Library meeting is slated for Thursday, March 17 at 7 p.m. All patrons interested in helping our library be the best it can be are invited to attend.
