Dear editor:
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the “Community Chest” and the local unit of the Canadian Cancer Society for their financial assistance in 2004.
One never plans for themselves or a family member to become ill. Unfortunately, my family knows all too well that that can change in a matter of 24 hours.
With all of the stress that comes with a sudden illness or diagnosis, it is very comforting to know that the “Community Chest” will step in to offer assistance with some of the costs of seeking medical treatment out of town.
We are grateful to the assistance that was provided for us, and I encourage you to attend the annual “Community Chest” fundraising dinner this Sunday (March 20) at La Place Rendez-Vous.
If you cannot attend, please think about giving a generous donation because you never know if the favour may be returned to you or your family some day.
Rest assured the “Community Chest” and the local unit of the Canadian Cancer Society manages this money carefully and it all stays right here in the district to be used for those in need of assistance.
We hope to see you at the dinner.
Sincerely,
Melanie and Bob Mathieson
Fort Frances, Ont.
