With Easter coming up soon, Scott Street merchants are hoping people come out and do some shopping this weekend and next week.
To create a little buzz, youngsters can come out and get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny at Pharmasave on Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
For $3, parents can get a 4”x6” photo with text.
And for a special treat for kids aged three-eight, the Easter Bunny will lead a parade around the store at 1 p.m.
Kids are also encouraged to make themselves an Easter bonnet or hat and bring it to the parade.
Everyone who enters will get treats, and there will be awards for the most creative hats in three age categories. For more information, call Nancy or Patrick at 274-5383.
Then next Monday through Thursday, the local Business Improvement Association will be having a “pick an egg” promotion.
Shoppers can look for posters in the windows of participating businesses, go into the stores, and pick an egg for a chance to either win a prize from that store or get a major discount on merchandise there.
As well, shoppers can look for Easter sales at various downtown business on items such as chocolate eggs, candy, giftware, and plush animals.
In related news, the annual Good Friday breakfast, hosted by the Fort Frances Kiwanis Club, is slated for Friday, March 25 at 8 a.m. at La Place Rendez-Vous.
This year’s guest speaker will be Pastor Alan Johnson of International Falls, with music by Diane Maxey.
Tickets, which cost $6 until Monday and $10 after that date, are available by contacting Ken Koprowski, Dr. Lidkea’s office, or any Kiwanian, or by calling 274-4235.
