Man faces drug charges

On Friday, shortly after 6 p.m., Fort Frances OPP officers arrested a man in the 200 block of Scott Street.
Police had been conducting a foot patrol of the downtown area when they observed two men acting suspiciously in a parked vehicle.
Further investigation revealed a drug transaction had taken place.
A 29-year-old Fort Frances man has been charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance.
He has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court May 9.
Meanwhile, Fort Frances OPP also are investigating several incidents in which suspects entered parked vehicles in the 800 block of Fourth Street East and the 1000 block of Third Street East in the early-morning hours of Easter Sunday.
The culprits made off with a variety of items, including fishing equipment, power tools, compact discs, and personal belongings.

Police also would like to remind the public to lock their vehicles and remove any valuable property to deter thieves.
