Heartbreaking theft

Dear editor:
This letter is to the person or persons who came into my yard on Sunday, April 17 and stole my nine-year-old daughter’s mountain bike that was given to her for her birthday.
You obviously knew what bike you wanted because you cut through the metal ring that is attached to a concrete bike stand that it was locked to.
My daughter is very responsible, she puts her bike where it belongs, and makes sure it is locked up at all times when she is not using it. But you decided that it was okay to take something that belongs to my little girl and broke her heart.
The bike is a yellow Miele 241 junior mountain bike with a compass on it.
If anyone has seen it, or maybe the culprits decided to ditch it in someone’s yard, can you please contact the OPP. It was stolen between the hours of 10:30 p.m. on April 17 and 7 a.m. on April 18.
And to you the person who took it, it would be greatly appreciated if your conscience got the better of you and you return it to my yard—no questions asked.
You have broken the heart of a nine-year-old girl who takes great care of her things and makes sure she locks her bike so that someone will not steal it.
