Curling, soccer meetings go tonight

A variety of meetings involving different local sports bodies will be taking place over the coming week.
The Fort Frances Curling Club will hold its semi-annual meeting there tonight (Wednesday) at 7 p.m. All members are encouraged to attend.
“We’d like to see as many people there as we can,” club president Maureen Thompson had said at its wind-down party Saturday night.
Meanwhile, the Borderland Soccer Association will be holding its annual general meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in Room 138 at Fort High, with a number of issues on the agenda.
The Fort Frances Minor Hockey Association will be holding its annual meeting and election of officers next Wednesday (April 27) at 7 p.m. in the Ice for Kids conference room.
“People can voice their opinion and everyone is welcome to attend,” said Bob Miller, who is the tournament director for the FFMHA.
A number of items must be decided upon, including filling the positions of president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and six board seats.
And the local adult mixed slo-pitch league will be having a team rep meeting next Wednesday (April 27) at 5:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the ’52 Canadians Arena.
Topics on the agenda will include league play, playoffs, and rules.
