Expansion knows no bounds for Coffee Time Donuts—both at home and abroad.
Parent company Chairman’s Brand Corp. yesterday announced its intent to purchase the assets of Afton Food Group, bringing 128 units of Robin’s Donuts, 85 units of 241 Pizza, and 11 units of Mrs. Powell’s Cinnamon Buns into the fold, alongside 301 Coffee Time locations across Canada.
“As a result, Chairman’s Brand Corp. is now targeted to double in size from coast to coast,” said company founder Tom Michalopoulos, who started the business from one shop in Ontario 24 years ago.
“Our proven franchising expertise will be applied to each and every brand, both domestically and internationally, similar to the worldwide growth of Coffee Time,” he pledged.
“With a combined unit presence of more than 525 locations from Nova Scotia to British Columbia, Coffee Time, Robin’s Donuts, 241 Pizza, and Mrs. Powell’s are all poised for synergistic growth in the Canadian market and abroad,” added senior vice-president Dan Lepidas.
Coffee Time also is in China, Europe, and the Middle East
Qatar will open its first Coffee Time within the next few weeks while locations in Egypt and Kuwait are expected to be up and running soon, Lepidas said.
“Last year, three opened in Beijing, with more planned there, and to date, we have eight franchises in Poland and now 25 in Greece.
“Locations there are on the mainland, and for the first time this summer, on the ferries serving the Greek Isles,” Lepidas added.
The Coffee Time menu at every location in the world combines its signature, premium-roasted coffee with local fare and Canadian coffee shop cuisine.
