Junior teams advance

Both Muskie junior teams advanced to their respective finals in NorWOSSA playoff action this morning at Fort High.
The junior boys’ basketball squad beat the Dryden Eagles 50-41 in their semi-final showdown this morning—earning a berth in the final against the first-place Kenora Broncos at 5 p.m.
Talbot Johnson led the Muskie attack with 15 points. Joey Theriault added 13 while Garnet Cornell netted nine.
Meanwhile, the Muskie junior girls’ volleyball squad, which had gone winless during the regular season, upset the Kenora Broncos 3-1 win in their best-of-five semi-final match by scores of 25-20, 25-19, 11-25, and 25-18.
The black-and-gold meet the first-place Dryden Eagles in the final at 2 p.m.
Both Muskies senior teams hit the court at 11:30 a.m. for their semi-final matches.
The boys’ basketball team met the Kenora Broncos, with the winner advancing to the final against Dryden at 6:30 p.m. for the gold medal and a berth to the NWOSSAA championship.
The girls’ volleyball squad also played Kenora in the semi-final, with that winner meeting Dryden for NorWOSSA gold—and an NWOSSAA berth—at 3:30 p.m.
