Search resumes for missing Ear Falls man

The OPP resumed its search for missing Ear Falls resident Geoff McClain yesterday.
Members of the Red Lake-Ear Falls OPP conducted a search by boat of the shorelines downstream of the bailey bridge at Highway 804 to the Ontario Power Generation Hydroelectric dam at Manitou Falls.
The search yielded no results.
A search of the area below the bridge also was tried with an underwater camera, with negative results.
Search efforts will continue, including a co-ordinated effort between Ontario Power Generation and the Red Lake-Ear Falls OPP detachment and OPP divers.
McClain, 42, a former Ear Falls mayor and provincial Liberal candidate, was reported missing Feb. 4. His truck was found abandoned about 13 km southwest of the town.
