(DRYDEN, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested an individual in connection with a serious assault in the City of Dryden.
On January 15, 2022, at approximately 8:17 p.m. members of the Dryden Police Service (DPS) responded to a report of an assault at a residence in the City of Dryden. The accused fled the scene prior to police arriving and an arrest warrant was issued for the accused.
On February 24, 2022 members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial (OPP), Northwest Region Crime Unit, Northwest Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine (K-9) and Treaty 3 Police Service (T3PS) executed an arrest warrant at a residence in the City of Dryden.
As a result a 35-year-old Kenora man has been charged with the following criminal offences:
- Assault with a Weapon – section 267(a) x2
- Break, Enter a place- commit indictable offence – section 348(1)(b)
- Uttering Threats- Cause death or Bodily Harm – section 264.1(1)(a)
- Failure to comply with release order- other than to attend court – section 145(5)(a)
The accused has been held in custody.
