The Fort Frances Canadians hosted a six-team regional U11 hockey tournament over Family Day weekend. The Norwest Stars took the top prize in the weekend-long tournament, with the Fort Frances Canadians clinching the second place, after losing the final 2-1 against the Stars. Also playing were the Neebing hawks, the Northshore Elks 82’s, the Dryden Paper Kings and the Northshore Eks. The event was free for spectators all weekend, with a fundraising canteen open.
