It is with great sorrow that the family of George Joseph Jim announce his passing on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care.
George was born on January 20, 1934 on an island on Day Lake. He grew up in Seine River First Nation and lived there almost all his life. He worked at a sawmill as young man before opening a store in Seine River, Jim’s General Store. He ran the store for many years, retiring after his wife passed away. He also enjoyed trapping and could be found on his trap line in his spare time.
He was predeceased by his father Big Jim; mother Mary Jim; wife Louise Mary Anne Jim (Johnson); son Garrett Jim; daughter Marion Jim; and sisters Tootsie and Joyce.
George leaves behind his children Rex (Debra), Bernice and Angela (Tim); grandchildren Timothy Jr., Morgan, Zachary, Brandon, Shantai, Christopher, Michelle and Elyssia.
Cremation has taken place and due to COVID-19 Restrictions a service will be delayed until family and friends can gather.
