Happy New Year to all of you! Here is hoping that 2021 is good to all of us.
We certainly have been experiencing amazing weather. I know it sounds very pessimistic, but I sure hope we don’t pay for this weather come calving or planting time. If winter was like this everyday, I think we would all enjoy it more. The sun shining brightly begs you to get outside and enjoy it. We have some great walking trails and can walk through the bush without being attacked by bugs or be on the look out for snakes like you do most of the summer. To be honest, the best trails we have are made by the cows, but we have expanded them with the snow machine and my boyfriend/partner’s homemade trail groomer.
He was trying to keep my mom’s trails open and she has been walking many extra steps to hopefully see her dog shed a few pounds. It is working! Daisee was up to 130 lbs and very overweight. My dad loved nothing more than to treat her with a handful of bones rather than one. After changing her diet and my mom walking her, she has reached 105 lbs. We are all excited for Daisee and she has a new skip in her step! The goal is to have her at 100 lbs, but this has been a big accomplishment! She enjoys her walks and is moving a lot better and quicker than she use to but if they join us on our trails, we must be sure the path is clear from cows. Daisee isn’t brave and couldn’t make the trip the other day as we met a cow on the trail. She tried to go around but it made her too nervous so she headed back to my house to wait.
I have been avoiding my office and my pile of papers for the past two weeks. Now I have a good week of emails to get through, but I was happy to be away from the computer. I am not excited about more zoom meetings, but it looks like that will be the normal for some time yet. I know many people will be de-Christmased already but not me! I would never take things down until after Ukrainian Christmas anyway, but I am in no rush. I enjoy the lights and all the treasured Christmas decorations I have accumulated over the years. Black Bettie hasn’t bothered the tree at all this year so he must be maturing! For Christmas I received a google home max and a nest cam! Though I haven’t got it all figured out I did have to find a way to turn off some of the notifications as I was getting multiple reminders that there was activity in my living room! Turns out it was just Black Bettie. I have shared my spaces with my brother, and he was spying on my mom and I having coffee!
