LORI ANN McLEAN

Lori Ann McLean passed away peacefully, surrounded with love, on Friday, Aug. 11, 2017 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
She was born on May 7, 1966 in Edmonton, Alta.
Lori was an amazing woman who fought the good fight throughout her life. She was a warrior in her battle with cancer and had a ferocious will to live.
Lori will be remembered for her infectious laugh, her big blue eyes, her kindness, her generosity, and her honesty. Everyone who met Lori was touched by her in a special way.
She had an uncanny ability to always make those around her feel good.
Her love of dogs came early in her life, and she cared for and loved her four fur babies, Solitaire, Buddy, Champ, and Turbo. The Toronto Blue Jays were a close second to her “pooches.” She loved watching her Blue Jays!
Lori cherished all those she worked with and cared for during her nursing career at Riverside Health Care Facilities. She forged special friendships with her co-workers at Weechi-it-te-win Family Services and deeply cared for the kids who came through the program in search of love and protection.
Lori was grateful for the love and support she received from her many friendships. She loved her brother and sister and her family with her whole heart.
Lori leaves to mourn her partner, Bruce Wreggitt and his children, Jamie, JoyLyn, and Jodi; brother, Allan (Kathy); sister, Linda (Del); stepdad, Garry Gregory; stepbrothers, Gordie and Steve; dad, Gord McLean and his wife, Susan.
She also is survived by her Auntie Dianne and Uncle Gary; nephews, Bill, Scott, and Dylan; and cousins, Tracy and Todd.
Lori was predeceased by her mother, Donalda, on April 9, 2016.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fort Frances.
Lori wished to include all of her friends and family as pallbearers and honourary pallbearers, saying, “You know how grateful I am.”
Because of the “exemplary care” she received, Lori named the Riverside Chemotherapy Department as the recipient of any memorial donations; as well as the Friends of Animals.
Serenity Prayer
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time, accepting hardship as the path to peace, taking as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it, trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will, that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.
