NORA KLYNE

Nora Klyne, 86, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
She was born on Jan. 25, 1931 in Fort Frances to Lute and Margaret Calder.
She grew up on the north of arm of Rainy Lake and never really left there, spending as much time at the family island as possible.
She was united in marriage to Harold Klyne on June 27, 1952 and together they raised four children, Earl, Harold, Carol, and Luanne. They taught them the value of hard work and that if you wanted something, you had to work for it–there was no such thing as a free ride.
Nora was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit and was an active member of the church community; she also was a founding member of the Sunset Métis.
Nora was very close with her sister, Minnie, they were never apart. They could spend all day together and still talk on the phone for almost an hour before bed.
Nora was predeceased by her parents, Lute and Margaret; husband, Harold on Nov. 30, 1996; daughter, Luanne Lee; grandson, Ben Klyne; brother, Mike (Delia) Calder; and sister, Lou Gill.
She leaves behind her sons, Earl (Dorothy) and Harold Klyne; daughter, Carol (Keith) Bruyere; son-in-law, Douglas Lee (Patty Ann Bruyere); grandchildren, Gordon Lee, Danielle Bruyere (Garrett Calder), Pete Klyne, and Jessica Bird; and great-grandchildren, Connor Calder, Kiera Handorgan, Tehya Handorgan, Gabriel Handorgan, and Shayanna Perrault.
Also surviving are her sister, Minnie Crowe, and brother, Peter Calder and wife, Nancy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Nora’s life was held Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 6 p.m. at the Sunset Country Métis Hall in Fort Frances, with Pastor Diane Clifford officiating.
