With great sadness, the family announces the passing of Mike Pegler, 84, of Emo, Ont., on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Emo Health Centre.
Mike was born on Dec. 7, 1932 in London, England to Francis and Marie Peglar. He came to Canada in 1968.
Mike worked as a security guard, and helped build the Winnipeg Square. He also worked at the Mattabi Mine in the late 1970s, built furniture, log cabins, and doll houses, and was an avid painter (a true artist).
In his later years, he even took on a job restoring boats when he was supposed to be retired.
Mike will be lovingly remembered by his three children, Lyle of Winnipeg, Man., Barb of Fort Frances, Ont., and William of Winnipeg, Man.; and will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Patrick, Chris, Austin, Kasta, Justin, and Brady; and his great-grandchildren, Aaleah, Natalie, Sierra, Aaron, and Emery.
He also is survived by his brother, John (June) Peglar of England; and several nieces and nephews.
Mike was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Marie; and wife, Elizabeth (2009).
A time fellowship in Mike’s memory will be held Friday, June 9, 2017 from 1-3 p.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo.
