It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Morris Krawchuk, 97, of Fort Frances, Ont., on Sunday, May 22, 2016.
Morris was born Dec. 10, 1918 in Rainy River, Ont. to the late Mike and Mary Krowczuk.
He had lived in the district all his life and had worked at the local paper mill for more than 30 years.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Royal Canadian Artillery.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids.
Left to cherish his memory are his two children, Wayne (Diane) and Randy (Carla); three grandchildren, Kaid, Terry, and Tana (Mike); and five great-grandchildren, Nolan, Ainsley, Jayla, Cassie, and Gunnar.
Also surviving is his brother, Merdo (Grace); numerous nieces and nephews; and his special neighbours, Roy and Gael Belluz.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Mary; wife, Lena; and siblings, Blanche, Nettie, Dave, and Elsie.
Cremation has taken place.
A family graveside service will be held at a later date.
