Forever cherishing his memory remains are his daughter Catherine Kellar (Ross Quirie); son Keith Kellar (Tammy); and grandchildren Kenneth Kellar, Katelyn Quirie (Jared Pursaga), Jillian Kellar, and Rikki Kellar.
Ken was the second of nine children and his siblings Earl (Jean), Irene, Jim (Yvonne), Helen (Ray), Harold (Karen), Audrey (Jim), Betty (Glen), and Dorothy all will remember him lovingly.
His sister-in-law Joyce (Jack) McLellan always remembers the time spent with Ken and Dixie. He also remains a part of the memories of his numerous nieces and nephews.
Ken was predeceased by his loving wife Dixie; infant son David; parents Cecil and Mildred Kellar; and brothers-in-laws Alan and Darrel.
Born in La Vallee, Ont., on the family farm, Ken then spent most of his childhood in Devlin, Ont., after the family moved.
Ken possessed a great love for all of God’s creatures, especially horses and cats. His love of the great outdoors is evident in his favourite stories about time spent working with horses in the “bush” harvesting wood in the traditional fashion.
Other passions included gardening, time spent at the cabin on Black Sturgeon Bay, and his family.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
A celebration of his life will take place Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 1105 Scott St., Fort Frances, Ont., presided over by friend and pastor Brian Keffer.
The pallbearers will be Ken’s grandchildren Kenneth Kellar, Katelyn Quirie, Jillian Kellar, and Rikki Kellar.
A private family interment will be performed at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church or the Riverside Foundation for Health Care c/o Green Funeral Home, P.O. Box 427, Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3M8.
