It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear brother, Marcel Raymond Gouliquer, 62, of Rainy River, Ont., on Friday, Dec. 18, 2015 at the Rainy River Health Centre.
Marcel was born May 26, 1953 in Emo, Ont. to Antoine (Tony) and Rose Gouliquer.
He was raised in Pinewood, Ont. and attended Rainy River High School. After graduation, he went on to Confederation College, where he graduated with his accounting degree.
He went on to work for BDO Dunwoody Accounting for a period of time.
The most memorable times of his life was creating and coaching the Pinewood Bears, which brought him memories of a lifetime with his boys. His door was always open and so was his heart. He was proud of his Bears.
His love for his Toronto Maple Leafs also could not be matched by anyone. A true fan for 50 years or more.
Marcel will be greatly missed by his siblings, Albert (Faye), Lorraine (Cliff), Joanne (Tom), Anita (Roger), and Karen; and brother-in-law, Brian Sullivan.
He also is survived by special friend and caregiver, Stevie, and very special friend, Sophie; nieces and nephews, Cheryl (Matty), Trevor, Adele (Kevin), Marc (Krista), Yogi (Amanda), Jenn (Bruce) Braden, Jordy, Jace, Ally, Andrew, Aaron, Amelia, Ashton, Kyra, and Devon; and numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.
Marcel was predeceased by his parents, Tony and Rose; and his sister, Lucille.
A service of celebration and remembrance will be held Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont., with Fr. Allan Lapay officiating.
Interment will take place in Our Lady of the Way Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
