It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Lizzie Lawres on Monday, Nov. 30, 2015 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Eileen was born Aug. 19, 1934 in Rainy River, Ont. to Herman and Anna Karpinen.
Eileen was united in marriage to Steve Lawres on Aug. 25, 1956 and together they raised two boys, Wayne and James.
She worked in the office of the Ontario-Minnesota Pulp and Paper Company after graduation. Eileen also obtained her LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) degree.
After raising her family, Eileen worked at Family and Children’s Services as a respite worker for many years until retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Steve; son, Wayne and partner, John, of Winnipeg; brother, Herman Karpinen and Judy of Fort Frances, Ont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eileen was predeceased by her parents and son, James
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
