Margaret Jean Schafer, 93, of Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont., passed away at her residence on Monday, Sept. 28, 2015.
Margaret was born July 15, 1922 in Hamilton, Ont. to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Craig.
Before Margaret was married, she was employed at the Eaton’s department store.
Margaret was united in marriage on May 3, 1950 to her husband, Kurt, who survives.
Once married, Margaret no longer worked outside the home and became a housewife.
One of Margaret’s pastimes were reading. She also enjoyed gardening, growing vegetables in the summer months at their home where they resided just west of town.
Margaret and Kurt enjoyed many holiday trips south to Florida. They had pets (cats) that were loved and considered their children.
Also surviving are three nieces, Dianne Morrow, her two sisters and their brother from Eastern Ontario. Margaret also leaves friends at Rainycrest, staff, residents, and volunteers.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Oct. 30, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Rainycrest Long-Term Care, with the Rev. MJ D. Leewis-Kirk, AOJN officiating.
