RICHARD JOSEPH ‘DICK’ JOHNSON

Richard Joseph “Dick” Johnson, 79, passed away on Aug. 11, 2015 in hospital in Grande Prairie, Alta.
He was born May 13, 1936 to John and Inez Johnson and was raised in Pinewood, Ont.
On Nov. 7, 1956, he married Lynne Hadley and together thy raised a family of four.
Dick worked at a variety of jobs in Northwestern Ontario and Alberta in the logging and mining industries, and as a school bus driver and equipment operator.
Dick will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Elsie, of Beaverlodge, Alta.; children, Glenn (Laurie) Johnson of Princeton, B.C., Rhonda (Bill Fowler) of Fort Frances, Ont., Allen (Leah) Johnson of Grande Prairie, Alta., and Lisa (Jeff) James of Grimshaw, Alta.
Dick also is survived by a sister, Muriel Gae of Fort Frances, Ont.; grandchildren, MaryAnn (Kerri), Susan (Jeff), Richard (Jenn), Dana, Terri, Crystal (Steve), Ricky (Sam), Jolen (Cheryl), Crystal, Courtney (Charles), and Brooke (Curtis); and 15 great-grandchildren.
He also leaves behind brother-in-law, Bruce (Karen) Hadley; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Kivari, Dell Nickel, June (Lyle) Wheatley, Rilla (Bert) Race, Glenda (Al) Carter, and Sue Hadley; along with many nephews and nieces and their families.
Dick was predeceased by his first wife, Lynne; parents, John and Inez Johnson; parents-in-law, Ben and Lila Hadley; and brothers-in-law, Ron Gate, Grant Hadley, and Charlie Kivari.
A private family memorial was held in Alberta.
