It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mildred Margaret (MacDonald) Lalond on Monday, Dec. 8, 2014 at her home at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont.
Mildred is survived by her daughter-in-law, Joyce Lalond; grandchildren, Larry Lalond, Mark Lalond, Linda (Mike) Zeyha, and Michelle (Brett) Greer; granddaughter-in-law, Terri; great-grandchildren, Travis (Kim), Aaron, Alexandria (Jordan), Jaimie, Laura, Ryan, Brett, Brandon, Danielle, Ashley, and Walker; and great-great-grandchildren, Ethan, Chloe, Jakob, and Zakary.
Many cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.
Mildred was predeceased by her parents, Martha and John MacDonald; husband, Tom; son, Earl; and siblings, Gordon (Hazel) MacDonald, Edith/Ettie (Howard) Simmons, and Cameron (Velda) MacDonald.
Mildred was an active member in the United Church and U.C.W., was a 4-H leader, and always was helping in community events in the town of Devlin, where she was born, married, and lived most of her life.
Mildred will be remembered and missed by her grandchildren for her unconditional love and understanding, the wonderful baking they were always enjoying, and the sewing of many special projects for them.
Mildred also will be greatly missed by her very dear friends, Frances Shelfantook, Audrey Forester, Freeda Carmody, Peggy Johnson, Del Cumming, Evelyn Metke, and many others.
Rest in peace, gentle Mom and Grandma. Love you always.
A memorial will be held in Mildred’s honour at a later date.
