It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father and loving husband, Louis Decaire, of Fort Frances, Ont., on Wednesday, June 25, 2014.
He was born July 27, 1927 in St. Boniface, Man.
Louis worked for Boise Cascade as a papermaker and retired in September, 1987 after 36 years of service.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Parish and a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He also sang in the church choir for 25 years.
He was united in marriage to Denyse Ouimet on Sept. 6, 1952.
Louis is survived by his wife, Denyse, of 61 years; his children, Daniel (Rosemarie), Rachel (David), Carl (Maureen), and Marc; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Delia Decaire; brothers, Jean-Baptiste, Auril, and Leo; and sisters, Bertha and Loraine.
A funeral mass was held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances.
The honourary pallbearers were Glen Colvin, Maurice LaForest, George Nault, Frank Ball, Jean Camirand, and Bill Shine Sr.
