Tony passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at Riverside hospital.
He was born on November 20, 1927 to the late William and Sarah Weir on the farm in Crozier where he lived his entire life.
Tony was united in marriage to his sweetheart Dorothy Cornell on July 27, 1954.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Lori (Greg) McKay; and son, Todd (Denise) Weir of Alberta.
He leaves behind five grandchildren, Erica McKay (Craig), Ian McKay (Nina), and Gerry, Kelsey and Blake Weir; and one great-granddaughter, Valli Hyatt.
Tony was predeceased by his parents; brothers George, Ed and Harper Weir; and two sisters, Dorothy Rostie and Evelyne Marsh.
He is also survived by one brother, Albert Weir, and one sister-in-law, Lila Weir; two brothers-in-law, Gordon (Jeannine) and Jim (Pat) Cornell; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Tony’s kindness, patience, generosity and humour will remain deep in our hearts forever.
Dad’s determined will to live despite all his obstacles gives us the strength to go on.
A celebration of Tony’s life will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 1:30 PM at Knox United Church in Fort Frances with Rev. Barbara Miller officiating.
The pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
