PETER JOHN van VLIET

In loving memory of Peter John van Vliet, 89, who passed away peacefully at his home, with his family by his side, on Friday, March 21, 2014.
Peter will be missed by his wife, Pietje; his children, Judy Walker (James) of Terrace, B.C., Roger van Vliet (Penny) of Grande Cache, Alta., Susan van Vliet of Whitecourt, Alta, Fr. Charles van Vliet of Houston, Tex., Linda Empey (Allan) of Devlin, Ont., Karen Ryan (Tom) of Dryden, Ont., Sandra Woodbridge (Ron) of Sicamous, B.C., and Shirley Essiembre (Ken) of Ignace, Ont.; and 42 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He also is survived by his siblings, Leen, Wies, Trees, Henk, and Theo.
A prayer service, led by Fr. Alan Albao, was held Sunday, March 23, 2014, at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont.
A funeral mass took place March 23, 2014 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Emo, with Fr. Alan Albao and Fr. Charles van Vliet officiating a traditional Latin funeral mass.
Interment will take place at a later date.
