It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Scott Catherall on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont.
Scott was born Dec. 4, 1964 in Lindsay, Ont. to Mary and Laurance Catherall.
During Scott’s first year of high school, he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Even after missing many weeks of school, Scott still managed to make the honour roll.
Throughout high school, he always enjoyed being involved and contributing to the yearbook committee. After receiving a degree in marine biology from Trent University, Scott’s health started to deteriorate.
Scott was an avid chess player, and loved reading and writing poetry, some which were published.
Life did not deal Scott the best hand of cards, but you play the cards you are dealt.
He leaves to mourn his sisters, Sue and husband, Philip Jones, of Devlin, Ont. and their children, Reece and Blake; Lynn and husband, Tom Major, of Headingly, Man. and their children, Kenzie and Jessie; and Christine and husband, David Church, of Haultain, Ont. and their children, Ian (Sandy), Todd, and Jeff.
Scott was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Laurance Catherall.
As per Scott’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
In memoriam donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Online condolences may be offered at www.greenfuneralhomefortfrances.com
