WINONA ELOISE BARKER

It is with great sadness that the family of Winona Eloise Barker announces her passing on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont.
She was born May 1, 1936 in Burriss, Ont. She was adopted by Heman and Hestor Lennox, growing up in Burriss.
On Oct. 1, 1955, she was united in marriage to Delbert Barker. They settled on the family farm to raise their family.
Her family was her life. She did everything she could to make their load a little lighter for them.
She enjoyed music, sewing, gardening, quilting, and photography, and was an avid cook.
She also taught piano and, after her children were grown, she worked for various businesses.
Winona leaves behind her husband, Delbert; sons, Edward (Ted) and girlfriend, Cheryl, Keith and wife, Lise, and Joseph (Joe) and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Trista and husband, Bryden Russell, Tyler and fiancé, Chelsea, and Trevor, Scott, Billy, and Mandy and boyfriend, Sam; and great-grandson, Rory Russell.
Also surviving are her brothers, Burt Holowka and wife, Ellen, Dale Huston and wife, Doreen, and Baxter Huston and wife, Anne; and sisters, Anita and husband, John Hormoth, and Cheri and husband, Maxwell Stroud.
She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Winona was predeceased by her adopted parents, Heman and Hestor Lennox; birth parents, Hiriam Huston and Alice Holowka; stepmother, Aloah Huston; and a daughter, Wendy Barker, in infancy.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Mr. Dan Tausenfrende and Mr. Terry Hoffman officiating.
Cremation has taken place, with interment in the Boxalder Cemetery.
The honourary pallbearers were her grandchildren.
