LAURA IRENE MITCHELL

Laura Irene Mitchell (nee Collett) passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances.
Laura was born April 10, 1921 in Virden, Man. to George and Faith Collett.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, George Mitchell, on Dec. 23, 1994; brothers, Dick and Ron Collett; and sister, Pat Patnaude.
Laura is survived by her son, Doug Mitchell (Darlene), and three daughters, Donna Bruce (Garland), Diane Schindel (Ron), and Georgina Hayes (Lyle).
She also leaves to mourn her 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Laura also is survived by her sisters-in-law, Dorthy Mitchell and Shirley Collett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Laura enjoyed many winters in Florida and summers at Lake Despair. She also loved her monthly lunches with her past co-workers from Safeway and wife her Shriner Ladies groups.
At her request, there will be no service.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
