MICHEAL (‘MIKE’) LYNN LENGYEL

It is with great sadness that the family of Micheal Lengyel, 52, announces his peaceful passing, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Mike was born on Oct. 18, 1960 to John and Mabel Lengyel.
He grew up in Fort Frances. He later moved away from the area at a young age, but always kept in touch with his sister, Charlotte. He resided in London, Ont., then later moving to Toronto, Ont., residing there for more than nine years while he worked as a landscaper, which was his passion.
He enjoyed the people he worked with and being outdoors.
He was a very kind and generous man, and had a quiet personality.
Mike loved being close to nature, especially watching the hummingbirds at the feeder outside his window while sitting in his favourite rocking chair. He was an avid collector of wildlife plates, hockey, and souvenirs from the many trips he took all over the world.
He was very fond of his little dog, “Babe.”
Mike returned home after his diagnosis with cancer to be closer to family.
He will greatly missed by his siblings, Charlotte (Jim), Tim, Nancy (Alex), Gail (Joe), Wayne, Vicky (Jake), Shelly (Ron), Paula, Sheila (Dave), and Darrel.
He also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and his friends in Toronto.
Mike was predeceased by his parents, John and Mabel; and brother, Keith.
As per Mike’s wishes, cremation has taken place and interment will follow at a later date.
If desired, in memoriam donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society c/o Northridge Funeral Home, P.O. Box 89, Emo, Ont., P0W 1E0.

“He’s Only Gone On”
At last his gallant soul took flight
Into the land where there is no night
But his name is carved in our hearts to stay
As we think of the things that he used to say…
So he is not dead, he’s only gone on
Into a brighter, more wonderful dawn.
For men like him were not born to die
But like the sun that shines in the sky.
They warm the earth and hearts of men.
And in happy remembrance they live again.
So while he sleeps and his voice is still.
His spirit goes on and it always will.
