He leaves behind many other beloved relatives and friends.
David was predeceased by his first wife of 25 years, Rena Josephine (nee MacDonald), who passed away in 1982, and his second wife of 27 years, Barbara Susan (nee Hansen), who passed away in 2010.
He lovingly and devotedly cared for both in their respective times of convalescences.
David was born Nov. 30, 1930 in Fort Frances. He proudly attended the single-room schoolhouse in Crozier (#3).
By profession, he was an industrial electrician and highly-regarded electrical supervisor. He worked in the pulp and paper industry in Fort Frances, Crofton, B.C., and for the last 26 years in Kamloops.
He retired from the Weyerhauser pulp mill in 1993.
Living the last 47 years of his life in Kamloops, he was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, and loved few things more than camping and fishing with his family and close friends. He also enjoyed gardening, tending his many fruit trees, and long hours in his garage woodworking and repairing most anything.
Above all, he delighted in his grandchildren and following their interests and activities.
He will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 14, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Dr., Kamloops, B.C. His son, Fr. Scott McCaig, will preside.
