It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Daniel John “Dan” Gallow, 66, of Fort Frances, Ont., on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
Dan was born Oct. 16, 1946 in Fort William, Ont. to the late Patrick and Ella Gallow.
He had worked as a drafstman/property assessor for the Province of Ontario for 30 years. He loved art, mostly drawing and painting, as well as music, both listening to and singing along.
He also enjoyed feeding the squirrels and other wildlife on the steps of his house.
Dan is survived by his children, Patrick J. Gallow (Nancy Swiston) and his adopted grandchildren, Becky and Amanda, Chad Gallow (Tuch) and grandchildren, Isabelle and Gabriel, and Darlene (Douglas Forbes) and grandchildren, Chris and Joseph.
Also left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Lorraine Mattas, Judy Campbell, Valerie (Jim) Chisolm, Doug Gallow, and Brian (Cathy) Gallow; cousins, Roberta Kerr and Patti; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Ella Gallow; and his youngest sister, Janice.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of Dan’s life will be held Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with president Julian Sorenson officiating.
