EMELIA MUTZ (DUCHNICKI)

It is with great sadness that the family of Emelia Mutz (Duchnicki) announces her peaceful passing on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont. at the age of 95.
Emelia was born April 24, 1917 in Fort Frances.
She attended St. Mary’s School and Fort Frances High School. She then spent a short time at St. Boniface Nursing School and worked as a nurse on the maternity ward at La Verendrye Hospital.
In 1945, she became a dental assistant to Dr. Cecil Garland, retiring in 1971.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church and the Catholic Women’s League.
On Oct. 29, 1955, she was united in marriage to Nicholas S. Mutz. Emelia was a wonderful homemaker and a loving wife, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and embroidery.
She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 years, Nick, and her special niece, Barb (Don) Koczkur and her family, Sherry (Doug) Watt (Thomas and Kenton), Stacey (Grant) Donais (Hunter), and Shawn Langtry.
She also is survived by her brother, John Duchnicki; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who were dear to her heart.
Emelia was predeceased by her parents, Michael (1968) and Sophie (1974) Duchnicki; sister, Mary (2006) and brother-in-law, Nick Kingerski (2001); brother, Walter (2009) and sister-in-law, Kay Duchnicki (2011); and sisters-in-law, Lena Duchnicki (2008) and Mary Drawson (1999).
Family and friends may visit Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with prayers offered at 7:30 p.m.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances, with Fr. Norberto Eyule officiating.
Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances.
The pallbearers will be Grant Donais, Michael Duchnicki, Tom Duchnicki, Don Kingerski, Shawn Langtry, and Doug Watt.
The honourary pallbearers will be Randy Anderson, Bill Dobransky, John Duchnicki, Alex Gawryluk, Don Koczkur, and Luke Schill.
Should friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Rainycrest, St. Mary’s Church, or a charity of your choice.
