Therese Jolicoeur (nee Cote), 83 years young of Rainy River, Ont., passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Rainy River Health Centre on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012.
Therese was born in St. Lina, Alta. on June 12, 1929 to Victor and Exilda Cote. She was united in marriage to Laurent Jolicoeur on July 19, 1945.
Therese will be sadly missed by her sons, Aime (Louise) and Gerry (Gail), all of Rainy River, Ont.; grandchildren, Therese (Dave) Isley, Penny (John) Lind, Jaime (Debbie) Jolicoeur, Sheila (Jeff Helm), Stacey (Peter) Fuhrer, Sherri-lee Jolicoeur, and Brittnie Holt; and great-grandchildren, Paige, Rhianna, Jesse, Noah, Kendra, Joshua, Austin, Meah, Caden, Isaiah, Seth, Zarah, Carson, Lyla, and Alexis.
Therese also is survived by her two sisters, Claire and Mary Jane; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Therese was predeceased by her parents, Victor and Exilda; husband, Laurent; daughter, Mona; grandson, Tony; great-grandsons, Joshua and Joseph; brothers, Paul and Tommy; and sisters, Noella and Annette.
Therese always enjoyed teaching others what she knew being patient and willing to share her knowledge of cooking, sewing, ceramics, crocheting, and other hobbies.
Therese’s stories always provided us with much laughter and enjoyment, but anyone who really knew her knew her greatest love in the most recent years was the love of her puppies, “The PUG.”
Therese met each new challenge in life with spirit and drive in her marriage and with her children, leaving us the legacy as we know it today.
A funeral mass was held Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Rainy River, with Fr. Alan Albao celebrant.
Interment took place in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Rainy River.
