PHILIP JEFFRIES BELLAMY

Philip Jeffries Bellamy, 97, of Devlin, Ont., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont.
Philip was born May 19, 1915 in Bankend, Sask. to George and Ester Bellamy.
He came to Rainy River District in the 1940s to find work. While in Stratton, Ont., he met Peggy Brown and they were united in marriage on Nov. 28, 1948.
Philip worked at various jobs throughout his life, including the Sudbury nickel mine, Sapawe saw mill, Red Rock saw mill, and many statue labour crews to name a few. He enjoyed sports, especially hockey, and also had a great love for music and playing the violin.
Philip is survived by his wife, Peggy, of Devlin, Ont.; their children, Richard (Sharon) of Devlin, Ont., Lawrence (Donna) of Atikokan, Ont., and Bruce (Marilyn) of Devlin, Ont.; and grandchildren, Mary, Orville, and Solomon.
Also surviving are his step-brother, Charlie Folster of Saskatchewan; brothers-in-law, Robert Brown and Lawrence (Maxine) Brown, all of Stratton, Ont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Philip was predeceased by his parents, George and Ester Bellamy; step-father, Tom Folster; three sisters and six brothers; and numerous in-laws.
A graveside service took place Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Stratton Cemetery in Stratton, with Rev. Ralph Fluit officiating.
Reception followed at the Millennium Hall in Stratton.
