DONALD JOSEPH ARMSTRONG

It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Joseph Armstrong announces his passing on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Rainycrest Long Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont., at the age 74 years, 11 months.
Donald was born July 27, 1937, to Edward and Kathleen Armstrong of Stratton, Ont.
As a youngster Donald attended the Stratton Separate School and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Stratton.
He spent over 30 years in Kenora, Ontario before moving to Rainycrest in 2010.
He was a kind and gentle person with a big heart.
He had a great love of country music especially songs by the late Hank Williams whom he idolized.
He loved to draw in his early years and to garden.
He is survived by his brothers, Robert (May) of Dryden, Gerald (Louise) of St. John, New Brunswick, Raymond (Sandra) of Dryden; and sisters, Margaret (Bert) Larocque of Rainy River, and Kathy (Chris) Healey of Burnaby, B.C.
He is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews, and his uncle, Melvin (Annie) Armstrong, of Stratton, and his aunt, Shirley Armstrong, of Rainy River.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Kathleen; his uncles Leo, Robert (Adelle), Joseph (Adeline), Terry (Eileen) and Sylvester Armstrong; and aunts, Marguerite (George) Penny, Sarah (Albert) Ross, Bernadette (Bill) Dauphinais, Rita Miller, Elizabeth (Charlie) Lauzon, and Alvira Armstrong.
Cremation has taken place with family interment in Stratton, Ont. at a later date.
