IDA LORRAINE NORRIS

Lorraine Norris (Mattson), 85, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 24, 2012 with family by her side after a brief illness.
Lorraine was born May 24, 1926 in Shaunavon, Sask. to Esther (Ottavainen) and Hugo Mattson.
Lorraine married Jimmy Keith Norris on Sept. 14, 1947 in Fort Frances.
Lorraine is survived, and will be sadly missed, by her sons, Laurie (Val) and Brad (Evelyn), all of Fort Frances, Ont.
She also is survived by, and was extremely proud of, her five grandchildren, Roy (Diane) of Winnipeg, Man., Laura (Gord) of Burlington, Ont., Paul (Jenn) of Thunder Bay, Ont., Lindsey (Jeremy) of Fort Frances, Ont., and Holly (Shaun) of Thunder Bay, Ont.; and nine great-grandchildren, Heather, Julia, Sarah, Matthew, Naomi, D’Artagnon, Jubilee, Jordyn, and Camron.
She also will be missed by her sister, Marsha (Jim) Killer of Chilliwack, B.C.; Jim Norris of Fort Frances, Ont.; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, long-time friend, Ken Carlson, and part-time dog, “Daisy.”
Lorraine stayed very active until she became ill. She enjoyed her home, fishing, gardening, cooking, lunches with the lady friends, visits with the neighbours, and much more.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont., with Rev. Brian Keffer officiating.
Interment will take place in the Burriss Cemetery at a later date.
