DAVID EDWARD JOSEPH FRENETTE

David Edward Joseph Frenette passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 at the Red Deer Hospice after a very brief battle with cancer.
David was born in 1938 in Fort Frances, Ont. to Ann (Lengyl) and Onesime Frenette.
David joined the RCAF in 1956 and attained the rank of corporal before he left the RCAF in 1967 in Kamloops, B.C.
David met his cherished wife, Johannah, in St. John’s, Nfld., where they were happily married in 1957. They settled in Red Deer, Alta. in 1987 and moved to Camp Alexo in 1995.
David (or Poppa as he was frequently known) is greatly missed by his wife of 53 years, Johannah, and their dog, Chipper; sons, Daryl (Susan) and Andrew (Tara); and daughters, Nancy Holborn (Clarence) and Erica Cann (Brian).
Poppa also is leaving behind 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
David also is survived by his brothers, Donald, Gerry, Bob, Rick, Jim, and Tom; sisters, Susan VanSchaik, Bonnie Henson, and Cathy Dorken; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
David was predeceased by his much-loved firstborn child, Connie, on Feb. 13, 2000; his parents, Ann and Onesime; sisters Margaret Ann and Anita Jackson; and his brother, Dennis.
