Hilding Ingvar Peterson, 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2011 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Hilding was born April 13, 1935 in Rainy River, Ont. to the late Elna and Elof Peterson.
Hilding lived in Fort Frances and was the loving husband of Jane (Lundstrom) Peterson.
Hilding loved the outdoors; he always made sure the lawn, flowers, and garden were perfect for Jane. Hilding also loved going camping and fishing to their favourite “spot” with his two best girls, Jane and Katie, his canine companion.
Hilding was a truck driver. Prior to his retirement at the age of 65 he was working for Taylor International.
Hilding is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jane; and his two children, Kevin Peterson and wife, Karen, of Dryden, Ont., and their two children, Domanique and Trent, and Kerry Lee Robertson and husband, Ken, of Fort Frances, Ont., and their two daughters, Kristina and Kenna.
He also is survived by his brother, Roy Peterson and wife, Shelby, their son, Curtis (Dory), and their two children, Kyle and Samara; special nieces and nephews, Tamara and Ralph Galusha, Darcy Robson, Cory and Riley Dobransky; aunts, Lottie Whitefield and Gerta Peterson; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Cremation has been taken place.
A come-and-go tea was held Monday, July 4, 2011 at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont.
