BARBARA A. BAMFORD

Barbara Anne Bamford, widow of the late Donald Y. Bamford, of Water Street, Miramichi, N.B., passed away suddenly at her residence on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the age of 75.
Born in Presque Isle, Maine on Jan. 28, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Weaver) Lindsay.
She was a homemaker and, prior to retirement, was the owner of Barb’s Flower Shop in Miramichi.
She was a member of St. Andrew’s United Church and the church choir, a member of the Rae Walls Rainbow Unit of the U.C.W.; a member and president of the Miramichi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, and a member of the Chatham non-profit housing committee.
She is survived by four daughters, Deborah Ballard (Jim) of Fort Frances, Ont., Linda Hunter (Jamie) of Miramichi, N.B., Donna Veniot (Larry) of Hampton, and Beth McCarthy (Walter) of Miramichi, N.B.; seven grandchildren, Kelly, Krissy, Jeffrey, Laura, Steve, Michael, and Stephanie; one great-grandchild, Ashton; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald, in 1998; and two sisters, Virginia Libby and Joan Kimborowicz.
Visitation was held Friday, May 27, 2011 at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St. in Miramichi.
The funeral service was held Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Church, Wellington St., Miramichi, conducted by Wendell Gregan.
The 23rd Psalm was read by Mrs. Judy Sipes. Remembrances were offered by Debbie Ballard and Kathy Page.
The hymn was “In the Bulb There is a Flower,” the choir anthem was “In the Garden,” and the recessional hymn was “How Great Thou Art.”
The pallbearers were Jeff McCarthy, Devon Russell, Walter McCarthy, Larry Veniot, Steve Veniot, and Jamie Maltby.
The honourary pallbearers, all members of the Miramichi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi-Preceptor Epsilon, were Barbara O’Donnell, Ruth Archer, Myrna Burke, Bev Campbell, Marilyn Comeau, Sherri MacPherson, Mary Butler, Ann Doran, Barbara Flanz, Mary MacIntosh-Warren, Kathy Page, Terry Pettigrew, and Carolyn Yates-Mullen.
Interment was in Pine Grove Cemetery.
