Allan Shrumm passed away at age 60 on Thursday, May 5, 2011 with his family by his side.
Allan was born to Ethel and Beauchamp Shrumm on Saturday, Feb. 17, 1951 in Emo, Ont., and lived his whole life on the family farm in Stratton, Ont.
Allan loved his gardening, and working on his home and yard. He was a very loving and caring person who would always have a smile on his face and a wise crack joke with a laugh in his voice.
Allan’s last employer was Ontario Hydro.
Allan is survived by his son, Paul (Jen) Shrumm.
Also left in sadness are his mother, Ethel Shrumm; sisters, Pat Cameron and Connie Williamson; brother, Elmer Shrumm; sisters-in-law, Valerie Shrumm and Lavaun Shrumm; nephews, Dwight Williamson and Donnie (Shannon) Shrumm; nieces, Donna Grondines, Dianne Cameron, Carla Carmody, Maureen Inkster, Debbie Robb, and Della (Drew) Roddick; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Allan was predeceased by his father, Beauchamp Shrumm; brothers, Elwood, Melburne, and Melvin; and brothers-in-law, Don Cameron and Omer Williamson.
At Allen’s request, cremation has taken place.
A family graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Pineridge Cemetery in North Branch, Ont., with Rev. Barbara Miller officiating.
Interment will follow.
The honourary pallbearers will be all of Allan’s family and friends.
