We are sad to announce the passing of Larry Marwick on Friday, March 26, 2010, with his loving family by his side at his home in Fort Frances, Ont., following a courageous battle with cancer.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Annette; son, Christopher Lysohirka (Blaire); and grandchildren, Stephanie, Petey, and new babe to come.
He was “Grampy” to them and loved them dearly.
He also is survived by his mother, Leona Marwick of Fort Frances, Ont.; sisters, Heather (Eric) Swanson of Ladysmith, B.C. and Cindy Nick of Fort Frances, Ont.; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Lawrence Marwick Sr. in 1984; sisters, Beverley in 1997, Donna Marwick in 2004, and Nancy Hawley in 2006; mother-in-law, Annie Lysohirka in 1989; and father-in-law, Bill Lysohirka in 1993.
Larry was born in Kenora, Ont. on Aug. 7, 1952 and grew up in Atikokan, Ont. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman’s man, and could be seen with his faithful dog, Gypsy, most places.
He received his welding ticket and worked in various areas, but was best known for his quality work as a carpenter making superior bunkbeds that were appreciated by many near and far.
He was a wonderful mentor to his orphaned nieces, Marie and Leona.
At Larry’s request, no service will be held and cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, P.O. Box 444, Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3M8 or to the charity of your choice c/o Green Funeral Home, P.O. Box 427, Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3M8.
