John Lewis Morrin, 63, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Friday, June 12, 2009 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
John was born Feb. 22, 1946 in Fort Frances and had lived all his life in Rainy River District. He had worked as foreman for the Town of Fort Frances Parks and Cemeteries, and retired after 30 years of service due to his health.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed going with family up to the cabin at the lake.
John was united in marriage on Nov. 10, 2001 to the former Karen Maki, who survives along with his son, John Tyler Morrin (Lori) of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
Also surviving are his grandchildren, Kayla, Tamara, John, and Austin; his mother, Alden Molnar of Fort Frances, Ont.; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his son, Lewis; father, John Sr.; and brother, Mark.
A celebration of John’s life will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Fr. Francis Pudicherry will officiate, followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances.
